Building a Business Blog for Dee & Dee Brown LLC Written by Donnetta Brown for Entrepreneurship 3 – Modules 3–4

This week’s blog assignment helped me better understand how important structure and organization are when building a website or blog. One of the biggest things I learned is that a blog is more than just writing. It also needs strong visual and functional components like a clear header, navigation menu, sidebar, footer, and images that support the message. When customers or readers visit a website, they want it to feel professional, easy to navigate, and trustworthy.

As a co-owner of Dee & Dee Brown LLC, I started thinking about how our blog can become more than just a school assignment. It can become part of our real business system. For example, we can use blog posts to share reseller tips, lessons from college, veteran-owned business experiences, and behind-the-scenes stories about building our company while attending college online at Washtenaw Community College.

Another thing I found interesting was how blogs help businesses build relationships with customers. A blog allows people to connect with your story and your knowledge. I also learned that consistent branding matters. Colors, fonts, layout, and images all help create a professional online identity.

For this assignment, I included a homepage header, images, blog body content, navigation links, and footer sections to help make the website feel complete and functional. This module helped me realize that websites and blogs are not just creative tools — they are business tools that can help grow trust, visibility, and communication with customers.
