What Showing Up Really Looks Like

Most people think showing up means progress, wins, and visible success.
Today, it didn’t look like that.
Today, showing up meant walking into a food cupboard appointment at Washtenaw Community College.
And I’m not hiding that.
Body:
I’m a veteran. I’ve served my country.
I’ve built a business.
I’ve gone back to school.
And I still have days where I need support.
That’s the part people don’t always see.
But here’s what I’ve learned—
Showing up isn’t about where you are in the moment.
It’s about refusing to stop moving forward.
At Dee & Dee Brown LLC, we talk about systems all the time.
But this is part of the system too:
Knowing when to push
Knowing when to pause
Knowing when to receive help
That’s not weakness.
That’s sustainability.
Closing:
I’m still showing up.
Still learning.
Still applying.
Still building.
And if you’re in a season where showing up looks different than you expected—
keep going.
Because that counts too.
